Many firms have expertise, but it is functionally generic or limited to one industry. Kline is unique, harmonizing divergent competencies across multiple industries into a cohesive approach that maximizes the value delivered to our clients on a worldwide basis.
Based in Kline & Company’s Parsippany, NJ, headquarters, Eric Vogelsberg leads the firm’s global M&A and Corporate Development Practice.
During his 27-year tenure with Kline, Eric has advised clients on a range of corporate finance matters including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and asset sales, as well as the development and execution of the strategies underlying these transactions. For the past 15 years, he has been the principal responsible for the majority of the nearly 125 transactions for which the firm has been retained.
Eric has led the evolution of Kline’s M&A portfolio from an acknowledged leader in commercial and technical due diligence for buy-side transactions to a full-service, M&A, and corporate development advisory. While buy-side diligence remains a core competence, he has expanded the firm’s service offering to include development of acquisition driven growth strategies and value chain repositioning, deal origination, capital raising, and development of JV and licensing agreements, as well as vendor due diligence. At the same time, he has expanded the firm’s relationships beyond its traditional base of companies in its core industries and financial sponsors to include investment banks (boutiques and majors alike); law and accounting firms; insurance companies, valuation firms, and other advisors; and firms focused on corporate turnaround and restructuring.
Prior to joining Kline, Eric spent 10 years in roles of increasing responsibility in the specialty chemicals industry through his association with Hercules Incorporated and the Harshaw Chemical Company. He holds an MBA in chemical marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BS in chemistry from St. Francis College. Eric is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Society of the Chemical Industry, and the Société de Chimie Industrielle. He is an invited speaker at industry and M&A-focused conferences; most recently, he delivered a presentation entitled “Future M&A Trends and Drivers Across the Personal Care Value Chain at In-Cosmetics.”
