Dilip Chandwani leads Kline's Manufacturing Competitiveness practice within the firm’s management consulting division. He has more than 35 years of experience in various process and manufacturing industries and has helped numerous clients with critical issues such as technology and manufacturing competitiveness, performance improvement, and identifying/evaluating new business opportunities. His clients include companies across diverse value chains, globally, that cover commodity/intermediate chemicals and specialty chemicals as well as other industrial and consumer manufacturing segments.
During his 20+ years with Kline & Company, Dilip has directed or conducted hundreds of engagements that have included diagnosing clients’ internal operations, assessing competitors’ technology/manufacturing capabilities and costs, and providing recommendations to improve competitive position and profitability. These programs combine knowledge of the manufacturing and supply chain issues across various industry segments with skills in competitive intelligence, engineering, and business analysis. Dilip has assisted clients with manufacturing cost competitiveness, technology assessments, and value chain analysis; competitive assessments and feasibility studies and global market entry strategy; acquisition/divestiture screening and due diligence programs; identifying and evaluating adjacencies; and business growth strategy.
Prior to joining Kline, Dilip worked as manager of information analysis for Engineering Information Inc. (an Elsevier company) in New York; in the Process Economics Program for SRI International Consulting in Menlo Park, CA in area of process economics; and for Engineers India Ltd. as a process engineer working on in-process engineering of several chemical plants and refining units as well oil/gas production platforms and pipelines.
Dilip earned Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering, with honors, from Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India, and an MSCHE from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
