DESCRIPTION
LubesNet, a comprehensive database of finished lubricant demand at
the global, regional, country, market segment, product category,
product type, and viscosity grade levels, provides information that
helps answer such questions as:
- What will be the demand for SAE 0W-XX PCMO in the United
States in 2015 and 2020?
- How does 2T/4T engine oil demand compare to PCMO in Asia-
Pacific, and how does that differ in South America?
- What are the market shares of the leading lubricant suppliers in
the consumer automotive segment in China?
-
Features
-
LubesNet Database 2012 is available online through an annual subscription. The base year for the 2012 version is 2011 and
includes FutureView forecasts to 2015 and 2020.
LubesNet captures finished lubricant consumption in every important lubricant-consuming country market. Data is segmented
according to five core regions, plus a global summary. Each regional segment provides a detailed breakdown of finished lubricant
consumption in each important country market within the region, plus an "all other" category.
- Asia-Pacific: Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan,
Thailand, Vietnam, and all other
- North America: Canada, Mexico, and the United States
- Europe: Benelux, France, Germany, Iberia, Italy, Poland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Russia, and all other
- South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala , Honduras , Peru, Venezuela, and all other
- Africa/Middle East: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and all other
- Global
LubesNet includes insight down to the viscosity grade level, as shown in the sample below. For each region, the major lubricant
consuming country markets are displayed with a level of detail and granularity not found in other database offerings. Since its
inception in January 2007, the content and functionality of LubesNet has improved based on suggestions and recommendations
from its many global users such as:
- NEW Trend View combines historical, base year, and FutureView in one table to view demand changes over time
- NEW global supplier market share estimates
- NEW Guatemala and Honduras added to South America
- Six years of historical demand data
- Choose to view all country markets or one or more individual country markets in either the base year, historical, or
FutureView
- Demand data available in four units of measure: kilotonnes (KT), million gallons (MG), million liters (ML), and thousand
barrels (KB)
- GDP data and other relevant market indicators
- Kline's underlying assumptions in the FutureView for country market lubricant growth/decline
- Unlimited access to the Kline project team for inquiries and demonstrations from HQ and individual LubesNet users
If you sign on to our premium service, you will have access to an additional five countries of your choice plus access to GDP
data and other relevant market indicators.

Functionality and Benefits
-
LubesNet is easy to use and accessible from anywhere in the world through a single user identification code and
password. A subscription includes enterprise-wide access by anyone in your organization and from any enterprise
location where finished lubricant demand data is needed.
LubesNet is an excellent tool to empower sales, marketing, and management personnel to utilize the most up-todate
finished lubricant demand data in their areas of responsibility and specific geographies. For example, a product
manager in China can easily access LubesNet to understand the historical, current, and future demand for a specific
viscosity grade of PCMO to more effectively customize a product offering to local demand. Understanding the shift
to lower viscosity consumer engine oils in India and the increasing penetration of synthetics can be an effective
tool in supply chain and marketing initiatives.
LubesNet features the FutureView forecasting tool, allowing users to easily change variables to run various "what
if" demand scenarios. For example, if the recovery from recession in China is stronger than expected and the
lubricant market grows by 6% instead of 4%, what will be the impact on demand? Or if viscosity grades do not
change at the suggested rate, or if performance changes do not occur, what might the resultant demand look like?
