  • Description
  • Regional Coverage: China, DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), North America, India, United Kingdom, United States

The new basestock capacity creation over the past five to seven years has resulted in a huge surplus for low viscosity basestocks. Unlike the heavier grades of basestock, the lighter grades (2 cSt and 3 cSt) are associated with all API groups of basestocks—Group I, Group II, Group III, and naphthenics. These viscosity grades find limited application in conventional lubricant products, but have a large market outside these applications. The next five years are critical for basestock suppliers as the supply of these basestocks will grow sharply at the back of new capacity creation and the refiners would need to find a market for these products.

This report will help subscribers to:

    • Assess the total supply of low viscosity basestocks today and in the future
− By major countries (the United States, China, India, DACH, and the United Kingdom) and the global
    • Identify the target markets for low viscosity markets
− By end-use applications and country markets
    • Identify the growing applications for these basestocks
    • Understand the growth drivers and challenges for each of the major end-use segments of low viscosity basestocks
    • Assess the future supply and demand scenario and identify business opportunities
