Ian Butcher, Managing Director of Kline Europe   Ian Butcher, Managing Director of Kline Europe

Based in the Brussels Office, Ian Butcher is responsible for global client relationship development as well as overseeing Kline's worldwide client satisfaction initiatives.

With over 25 years of consulting experience with the Kline Group, Ian has worked in a variety of functions from Commercial Director to his current position as Member of the Board of Directors and Officer of the company. He has spoken at a number of major conferences about various aspects of the chemical and petroleum industries. He and his colleagues assist many of Europe’s chemical and petroleum corporations to identify new business opportunities and new markets, to monitor and improve client relationships, and in due diligence assignments for acquisitions. The group is increasingly working Central Russia and Eastern Europe, finding opportunities for clients in these fast-moving economies.

Prior to joining Kline, Ian Butcher was Executive Director of WS Atkins Management Consultants; Coordinator at SLS Consultancy in York, UK; lecturer at the University of Nice (France) and worked in a number of EU institutions – European Commission, Council of Ministers; Economic and Social Committee and Euratom.

He obtained an honors degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury and subsequently post-graduate studies at the University of York. He has a MABE through the University of Leeds and has a qualification from the Institute of Linguists.

In his spare time, Ian likes to cycle and run. He has a Danish wife and a son of 17 years.
