LITTLE FALLS, NJ, May 29, 2007 – Redefining usability in research for the personal care value chain, global management consulting and market research firm Kline & Company has announced a new interactive database and an analytical model designed to give clients a more robust understanding of the industry.
Kline’s Specialty Raw Materials for Cosmetics & Toiletries Global Database and The Kline Deformulation Model for the Personal Care Value Chain were introduced and demonstrated at In-Cosmetics 2007 in April and showcased at the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Suppliers Day.
Along with Kline’s annually updated Global Cosmetics & Toiletries database, these services give subscribers greater control over a wide range of market data covering the whole value chain.
“The increased flexibility lets them dig deep into specifics,” says Peggy Bennett, manager of Kline’s specialty chemicals for personal care titles. “Our clients can examine raw material consumption by region, take a look at the intricacies of supplier sales, or compare the average market pricing of raw materials by application and region.”
Subscribers can now analyze the finished products market with Global Cosmetics & Toiletries and then use the Specialty Raw Materials database to examine the ingredients that go into the products they were looking at in the first database. Then, using the Deformulating Model, they can essentially reverse-engineer the finished products to see how much of each ingredient is being used in each finished product, practice. Furthermore, the variables are adjustable, so a variety of scenarios can be examined, with invaluable results for both manufacturers of finished products and marketers of raw materials.
Kline & Company has been serving the cosmetics, toiletries, and fragrances industry for more than 40 years and is the only strategic consulting firm that covers the entire personal care value chain––from raw materials to finished products and retail channels.
