Job Description:
Kline & Company is seeking a highly motivated individual for consideration as an Engagement Manager in the Chemicals & Materials practice within our Management Consulting business. Preferred candidates for this position will possess industry experience as well as skill sets in strategy development and implementation, technology assessment, benchmarking, competitive intelligence, and market and business research, among others. This position is based in our office in Oxford, UK.
As an Engagement Manager, your primary responsibility is to manage engagement teams in the design, execution, and delivery of research and analysis that facilitates higher-confidence strategic business decisions for our global clients. Typical engagements may include competitive intelligence, technology assessment, new product development, strategy development and implementation, opportunity identification and assessment, due diligence, and market trends and forecasting. A peer leadership environment is designed to assist and guide you, and you will report to the Director of Consulting Engagements for Kline Management Consulting.
Day-to-day responsibility for the design and execution of proprietary consulting engagements includes:
- Develop/refine scope of engagement, scheduling, budget, and client deliverables
- Drive staff performance to successful completion of engagement
- Guide the development of analysis, appraisal, and recommendations; oral presentations; and all supporting documentation
- Serve as key client liaison throughout duration of assignment
- Support business development efforts by maintaining client relationships and assisting in proposal development and internal planning activities
- Conduct select primary interviews to obtain critical insights and information
Job Requirements:
- Specific experience in consulting, project management, and the chemicals and materials industry
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills for purposes of team leadership, client work sessions, and client presentations
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and motivate in a team environment to achieve results that meet or exceed client expectations
- A B.S. in a technical field, preferably an MBA, and at least 7 years of experience in industry and experience working in a consulting environment
- Ability to travel
