	Job Description:
	Kline & Company is seeking a highly motivated individual for consideration as a Database Developer & Manager for Kline’s multi-client market research studies division. This position will be based in Kline’s India offices which are located at Gurgaon, Haryana. Job Description: As a Database Manager, your primary responsibility will be to work hands-on with and manage our project developers in the design, execution, quality control and delivery of database reports that deliver rigorous analyses and intelligent insights for our global clients. Typical database offerings are either regional or global in scope. We are seeking a candidate with the initiative to continuously seek out areas of improvement and who has the ambition to take ownership of the database as well the ability to develop proprietary software for the databases. The ideal candidate will: Have the ability to design the database architecture and take the lead in building and designing databases with a focus on content delivery, information retrieval, and data integration. Have the ability to develop a tracking usage system as well as enhance the existing architecture to offer proactive monitoring and auto-notification features. Regularly seek out errors/inefficiencies, and continually make improvements and enhancements to our database offerings. Possess solid communication skills and an ability to interact with different industries and Industry Managers as well as lead a team of database developers and analysts within Kline Market Research. Key Responsibilities: Exercising overall independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining the required results in database design. Supporting and guiding KMR Industry Managers and the other members of the IT and Database Development Team on all matters pertaining to database development and design. Acting as a data expert in all aspects of both internal and external data, including data cleansing, data transformation, match/merge, and suppression. Collecting, designing, constructing, developing, and managing various dataset/tables from a wide variety of sources (Oracle, Teradata, Excel, csv, text file etc.) into a DB environment. Maintaining metadata and revision history.

	Job Requirements:
	The candidate would need to have a strong web development background building applications for search, information retrieval, and content management applications for high-profile databases. 5-plus years of experience with: Web-based databases developed using a Microsoft back end (ASP.NET, SQL Server, Ajax etc.). Computer languages and platforms such as JSP, Oracle 9i/8i, Vignette V/6 / StoryServer 4-5, Endeca ProFind, Java, Unix, Solaris Linux, TCL, Perl, Apache Tomcat, Thunderstone. Relational database design and architecture and various IT, MIS, and DBMS concepts. Excellent sense of graphical user interface (GUI) and look and feel, and understanding databases from the perspective of the end-user experience. Experience working in a global environment. Overall knowledge of design, screen layout and functionality of databases, with a real flair for design and creativity. Previous experience in a database development environment for either a company that produces databases for distribution to clients, or a market research provider that utilizes databases for its syndicated research reports. Excellent understanding of the inputs needed to create a top-notch online Database, such as an understanding of how to design Excel and/or Access spreadsheets for optimal results. Should advise our Industry Managers in designing the necessary spreadsheets to reduce later time spent correcting errors. Experience in conducting quality checks and quality control before database is released; overall responsibility for data integrity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Statistical/Mathematical/Econometric background a plus
